The Canberra Blues Society 2008 Awards

Best Blues Instrumental Guitar Award Winner

Chris Harland

Chris Harland, blues vocalist and guitarist, has been presented with The Canberra Blues Society 2008 Award for Best Blues Instrumental Guitar. The Chris Harland Blues Band are regular performers at the Canberra Blues Society's monthly jam sessions and Chris is very proud to have been presented with this award which he described as "awesome".

Chris's guitar playing is inspired by the masters of the blues such as Buddy Guy and Eric Clapton and his articulate and sensitive playing has demonstrated these influences to Canberra Blues Society audiences over the last year.

Chris formed the Chris Harland Blues Band in England in 2004. CHBB, as they affectionately became known, played over 100 live performances and produced two albums before Chris moved to Australia in the summer of 2007. Chris formed his new Australian band shortly after arriving and CHBB2 have become well known as one of the most exiting and entertaining blues bands in the Canberra area.
